Dr. Ola Englund
Englund & DesRoches Dentistry is proud to introduce it's founder, Dr. Ola Johan Englund. Dr. Ola was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, living most of that time on Mercer Island. He attended the U of W undergraduate program and graduated from the School of Dentistry in 1976. After dental school, Dr. Ola completed a general practice residency with the public health service in Baltimore. While he enjoyed his time "back east" his heart still belonged to the Inland Northwest, so he returned and joined a practice in Medical Lake in 1978, and has been transforming and enhancing smiles ever since.
He continues to improve his skills with many hours of continuing education classes, which include extensive seminars at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI) and Spokane Study Club, and has most recently been asked to teach clinical courses in Seattle and St. Louis. Dr. Ola desires to provide his patients with optimum care and treatment options.
Dr. Ola and his lovely wife Gayle, who is a radiation therapist at Sacred Heart Hospital, have been married since 1972. Their three children are Ryan, Leslie and Chrissy. Beyond the joy of their children comes the adoration of their first grandchild, Miya. Ola and Gayle wistfully look forward to their golden years with many more grandchildren.
While Dr. Ola's oldest passion remains rebuilding and repairing antique clocks, his current hobbies include golf, racquetball and fishing. Although these activities are a huge source of enjoyment, Ola, with a sheepish smile, is amazed at the level of frustration they can cause.
Dr. Ola Englund's lifetime goal is to touch people's lives with God until he's at least 100 years old. He desires to continue providing charity dentistry to those in need, and expand into missionary dentistry in the future.
Dr. Robert R. DesRoches
Dr. Robert R. DesRoches, Jr. happily joined Englund & DesRoches Dentistry in 1998. He has found a home here in this office to practice his love of dentistry in the Inland Northwest, where he's lived the majority of his life.
Dr. Rob was born on an Air Force Base in Michigan, but was raised in Medical Lake where he attended school K-12. He graduated with a biology degree from EWU in 1992, and then graduated from Northwestern School of Dentistry in Chicago in 1998.
Dr. Rob continues his education with many hours of seminars, lectures, an extensive program at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI), and the Spokane Study Club. Dr. Rob's professional goal is to continue to offer state of the art dentistry to provide optimal aesthetic and reconstructive care for his patients.
Dr. Rob and his darling wife Gina are raising their own personal wrestling team of boys: Ryan, Jacob, Nicholas, Jameson, Samuel, Jonathan, Aaron, and the latest addition (Peter) born August 4, 2006. As you can imagine, he is very active coaching a variety of sports. Being a devoted father to this many boys has allowed Dr. Rob to also expand his love of music, not only by singing with the family, but also by helping to lead worship at his church. Camping and fishing are other activities that offset his dental world.
Dr. DesRoches' ultimate goals are to build a practice where patients receive exceptional care, watch his sons grow into husbands and fathers, share life's joys with Gina, and honor Jesus Christ in every aspect of his life.
